ASU Transfer Scholarship Guidelines (2009-10)
The ASU Transfer Scholarship is administered through the ASU Financial Aid & Scholarships Office. Any questions concerning the scholarship should be directed to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office at (870) 972-2310.
What the Scholarship Covers:
- The ASU Transfer Scholarship provides $3600 per year ($1800 per semester) for full-time enrollment and $1000 per semester for Jonesboro on campus housing. Awards are contingent upon the availability of funds and the housing portion is also contingent upon the availability of on-campus housing.
- This scholarship is awarded for the duration of four consecutive semesters or through completion of the undergraduate degree, whichever occurs first, provided the student maintains all scholarship requirements.
How to Qualify:
- The scholarship is awarded to U.S. citizens who are Arkansas residents transferring from Arkansas two-year institutions.
- Students must be transferring for the first time to an ASU system campus.
- ASUJ will allow up to 9 total attempted hours of ASUJ work in the immediate 12 months prior to the first semester of full-time enrollment.
- All students must have earned a minimum of 45 hours at an Arkansas two-year institution(s) and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.250.
- Students must submit a scholarships application with a final transcript by the following deadlines:
- Fall semester - August 15th
- Spring semester - January 15th
- A limited number of awards are available
- The deadline for acceptance is 30 days from the date of the scholarship offer.
Students Responsibilities for Accepting and Maintaining the Scholarship:
- Students who are selected to receive the ASU Transfer Scholarship will have 30 days to accept the scholarship offer. After that time, the scholarship offer will no longer be valid. Should you accept the scholarship and later decide to attend another university, please notify the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office in writing or by email.
- Full-time enrollment of at least 12 ASU-Jonesboro credit hours in Jonesboro or at an ASU System degree center (Beebe, Mountain Home, or Newport) is required during each fall and spring semester. Concurrent enrollment on another campus cannot be used to meet full-time enrollment status nor be paid for by the scholarship.
- All students must enroll in ASU-Jonesboro courses the semester of the award.
- All college-level course work is calculated into the cumulative GPA for scholarship renewal.
- Students must successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester with a 3.00 cumulative GPA .
- Eligibility to continue on scholarship is checked at the end of the fall (December) and spring (May) semesters. Students with summer school work should remember that those grades may affect their scholarship status when cumulative GPA is reviewed.
- If the student does not successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester, the scholarship will be revoked. Correspondence work cannot be used to meet the 12 hour requirement.
- Students who have grade changes are responsible for contacting the Scholarship Coordinator so that their scholarship status can be reevaluated.
