2008 Summer Financial Aid Application
The 2008 Summer School Financial Aid Application
Priority Deadline Date is May 2, 2008.
Important Information
- Due to the short time frame of summer aid processing, applications received after the priority deadline will be processed as time permits. If you completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during the 2007-2008 academic year, you do not need to complete another FAFSA for summer. If you have not completed this form, they are on-line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. New summer applicants must complete the 2007-2008 FAFSA application by June 30, 2008.
- You must register for and maintain a minimum of six semester hours throughout the summer sessions, including the interim sessions, to be packaged for a student loan. (The six hours can be a combination of all summer sessions.) We strongly urge you to register for ALL summer courses at the same time since we cannot process your summer financial aid until you have registered. We will process your aid for the number of hours for which you are registered. We will NOT be able to revise your summer aid package.
- If you are a Health Professions major and unable to register for your classes by the web, please bring a copy of your intended summer registration to the Financial Aid Office before May 2nd.
- Please note, there are maximum loan limits for each grade level for a twelve-month academic year. If you have met your annual loan limit during the fall and spring semesters, you will not be eligible for summer Stafford loan assistance.
- Be prepared to purchase your own books. Loan funds are normally disbursed during the first week of classes. Book vouchers and deferments will not be available.
- If you have questions, contact your financial aid counselor on-line at http://finaid.astate.edu/counselors.shtml.
