High School Honor Award
The High School Honor Award is administered through the Student Financial Aid/Scholarship Office. Any question concerning the scholarship should be directed to the Student Financial Aid/Scholarship Office, at (870) 972-2310.
How to Qualify:
- Applicants must be Arkansas high school juniors or seniors who score a 24 or above on the ACT.
- Applicants must have all supporting documents in the Admissions Office before the close of the registration period for the Fall and/or Spring semester. No awards will be made after the sixth class day. Awards are not available for summer school.
How to Apply:
The following documents should be submitted to the Office of Admissions.
- An application for admission with fee
- Official ACT test scores
- Proof of immunization against measles and rubella.
Notify the Financial Aid Office after this process has been completed and you register for class.
What the Award Covers:
- The award covers the cost of tuition for one course, taken during the Fall and/or Spring semester at the ASU Jonesboro Campus.
- Award holders who are dependents of ASU faculty and staff will be paid an amount equal to their discounted tuition only.
- The award does not pay for courses taken by correspondence.
- The award does not pay for any additional courses the student may take.
- The award does not automatically entitle a student to other scholarships offered by ASU. To be considered for institutional scholarships, students must make a separate application during their senior year of high school.
How to Process Your Award:
- Students should notify the Financial Aid & Scholarships office after they have completed the above application process and registered for class so that an automatic credit payment for their course may be processed.
- Students are responsible for paying any additional fees (such as parking stickers) and should check their account balance at https://asu.astate.edu/
- Fee payment schedules and instructions are available at the beginning of each semester in the Finance Office.
How to Maintain the Scholarship:
- Students must earn a grade of B or better to be eligible to renew the scholarship for a subsequent semester (excluding summers).
- Students may renew the scholarship each semester until they graduate from high school.
- If a student earns a grade below a B or withdraws from a course, he/she becomes ineligible for future awards.
